Ixiolirion tataricum, known as the Siberian lily or lavender mountain lily, is a plant native to central and southwest Asia, ranging from the Sinai Peninsula to Xinjiang Province in China. It belongs to the family Ixioliriaceae and was first described in 1829.
Description
Ixiolirion tataricum is a species in the genus Ixiolirion, part of the botanical family Ixioliriaceae. It is found in a wide range of regions including Afghanistan, Altay, the Gulf States, Iran, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Kirgizstan, Kuwait, Lebanon-Syria, Oman, Pakistan, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Sinai, Tadzhikistan, Transcaucasus, Turkey, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. The plant produces flowers that vary in color from light blue to dark violet. It was first published in 1829 under the authorship (Pall.) Schult. & Schult.f.
