Ixeris repens is a perennial herb in the Asteraceae family, native to regions across East Asia including Japan, China, and the Korean Peninsula. It grows up to 15 cm tall, with rosette leaves and reduced cauline leaves. The plant produces 2-10 flower heads, each with 13-15 yellow flowers. It was first described in 1858.
Description
Ixeris repens is a low-growing perennial herb, 3-15 cm in height, with rosette leaves 3.0-5.0 cm long and 3.0-5.0 cm wide, obtuse in shape and petiole-like in structure. The leaves are glabrous and whitish green on both surfaces. Cauline leaves are reduced to scales. The synflorescence consists of 2-10 heads, each containing 13-15 flowers. The outer involucral bracts are 2.0-5.0 mm long, and the inner ones are 11.0-14.0 mm long. The corolla is ligulate and yellow. Achenes are approximately 5.0 mm long with 10 ribs and an ill-defined beak of about 1.0 mm. The pappus is white and approximately 7.0 mm long.
