Ixeris chinensis (Thunb.) Nakai
Ixeris chinensis is a perennial herb in the Asteraceae family, native to regions in China and parts of Asia. It grows up to 40 cm tall, with rosette leaves ranging from linear to obovate and cauline leaves that are ovate or narrowly obovate. The plant produces yellow, white, or pink ligulate corollas in corymbiform or paniculiform synflorescences. Achenes are brown, with a 3 mm beak, and a whitish pappus.
Description
Ixeris chinensis is a perennial herb in the Asteraceae family, reaching heights of 5–40 cm. Rosette leaves are 8.0–25.0 cm long and 5.0–15.0 cm wide, with shapes ranging from linear to obovate, and are entire to pinnatipartite. Cauline leaves are few, ovate or narrowly obovate, and can be pinnatifid or subentire to denticulate. The synflorescence is corymbiform or paniculiform, with each head containing 15–27 flowers. The involucre is 6.0–8.5 mm long, with outer bracts up to 1.0 mm and inner bracts 9.0–11.0 mm long. Corolla is ligulate and may be yellow, white, or pink. Achenes are 4.0–6.0 mm long, brown, with a 3 mm beak, and a whitish pappus 4.0–5.0 mm long. It is found in regions such as Shanxi, Anhui, Taiwan, and others in China, as well as Buryatiya, Mongolia, and Tibet.
