Description

Ischnosiphon obliquus (Rudge) Körn. belongs to the Marantaceae family and is distributed across tropical South America. It occurs in regions such as the Amazonas, Caquetá, Meta, Putumayo, Vaupés, and Vichada in Colombia, as well as in Brazil's Northeast, North, and West-Central regions. The species is also documented in Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Leeward Is., Peru, Suriname, Venezuela, Windward Is., and Leticia. First described in 1859, it is part of the genus Ischnosiphon and is native to the tropical ecosystems of the region.
