Iresine hartmanii is a species in the genus Iresine, family Amaranthaceae, native to several regions of Mexico including Central, Northeast, Northwest, Southeast, and Southwest. It was first described in 1895 by Uline. Current taxonomic understanding indicates that species boundaries within the genus Iresine have not yet been thoroughly studied.

Description

Iresine hartmanii belongs to the Caryophyllales order and is part of the Amaranthaceae family, which includes a diverse group of flowering plants. The species is distributed across multiple regions in Mexico. Recent studies using pollen characters and DNA sequence data have contributed to understanding the monophyletic nature of the genus Iresine, though detailed taxonomic work on species limits remains pending.
