Chrysosplenium iowense is a member of the Saxifragaceae family, native to North America. It is primarily found in Canada, ranging from the northern Northwest Territories south to British Columbia and east to Manitoba. Disjunct populations also occur in the Driftless Area of Minnesota and Iowa, USA.

Description

Chrysosplenium iowense, known as Iowa golden carpet or Iowa golden-saxifrage, is a flowering plant species in the Saxifragaceae family. It is native to regions in Canada including Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, the Northwest Territories, and Saskatchewan. In the United States, it is found in the Driftless Area of Minnesota and Iowa. First described by Rydb. in 1901, the species exhibits a relictual distribution pattern in the southern part of its range. It is primarily a Canadian species, with occurrences extending southward into parts of the United States.
