Indian Charcoal Tree

The species is known by several common names, including Indian Charcoal Tree, pigeon wood, and Oriental trema. In Hawaii, it has become naturalized and is referred to as gunpowder tree or nalita. Its wide distribution includes regions like Andaman Is., Angola, Assam, Bangladesh, Benin, Bismarck Archipelago, Borneo, Burkina, Burundi, Cambodia, Cameroon, Cape Provinces, Caroline Is., Central African Republic, Chad, China South-Central, China Southeast, Comoros, and Congo.
