Pluchea indica is a flowering plant in the Asteraceae family, commonly known as Indian camphorweed. Native to parts of Asia and Australia, it has been introduced to various Pacific Islands, where it is often invasive. It was first described in 1831 by Less.

Description

Pluchea indica, also called Indian fleabane or Indian pluchea, is a member of the Asteraceae family. It is native to regions including Langkawi, Thailand, the Andaman Islands, Bangladesh, and parts of Australia. The species has been introduced to numerous Pacific islands such as Enewetak Atoll, Kwajalein Atoll, Majuro Atoll, Hawaii, and others. In these introduced areas, it is frequently reported as an invasive species. The plant was first published in 1831 by the botanist Less.
