Hypoxis villosa is a member of the Hypoxidaceae family, native to southern Africa. It occurs in South Africa's Cape Provinces and KwaZulu-Natal, as well as in Lesotho and Eswatini.

Description

Hypoxis villosa, described by L.f. in 1782, belongs to the genus Hypoxis. Previously classified within the Liliaceae or Amaryllidaceae, it is now placed in the Hypoxidaceae. The species is found in the Cape Provinces, KwaZulu-Natal, Lesotho, and Swaziland.
