Hypoxis aurea Lour. is a species within the Hypoxidaceae family, commonly known as the yellow hypoxis. It is distributed across several regions including the TW, Assam, Bangladesh, Cambodia, China South-Central, China Southeast, East Himalaya, India, Japan, Jawa, Korea, Laos, Lesser Sunda Is., Malaya, Myanmar, Nansei-shoto, Nepal, New Guinea, Pakistan, and the Philippines. This species has a broad native range and is part of the genus Hypoxis. The plant was first published in 1790.
