Hypoxis angustifolia is a species in the genus Hypoxis, belonging to the family Hypoxidaceae. It was first described in 1789 by the author Lam.

Description

Hypoxis angustifolia is native to a wide range of regions in Africa, including Angola, Ascension, Burundi, Cameroon, the Cape Provinces, the Central African Republic, Chad, Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Ethiopia, the Free State, Gabon, Ghana, Guinea, Kenya, KwaZulu-Natal, Lesotho, Liberia, Madagascar, and Malawi. As a member of the Hypoxidaceae family, it is part of a group of flowering plants commonly known as the yellow star grass family. This species is one of several within the genus Hypoxis, which is characterized by its cormous growth habit and star-shaped flowers.
