Description
Hymenonema graecum is a perennial plant in the Asteraceae family, with a height of 10-40 cm. It has coarsely pubescent stems and pinnatifid basal leaves with dentate segments. The cauline leaves are similar or linear. The plant produces 1-3 capitula per stem, with peduncles 10-30 cm long. The phyllaries are cartilaginous and glabrous, with ovate outer and narrowly ovate to lanceolate inner ones. The yellow ligules may have a purple spot at the base, and the tube is hairy. The achenes are 4-5 mm long and stiffly hairy, with pappus scales measuring 12-14 mm. It is found in Greece, Kriti, and Turkey.
