Huperzia ceylanica is a species in the Lycopodiaceae family, native to regions including Assam, South-Central China, the East Himalaya, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Tibet. It was first described in 1951 by Rothmaler, based on earlier work by Spring.

Description

Huperzia ceylanica belongs to the genus Huperzia within the Lycopodiaceae family, a group of clubmosses. This species is distributed across several regions in South and Southeast Asia, including Assam, South-Central China, the East Himalaya, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Tibet. The species was formally described in 1951 by Rothmaler, building upon the original work of Spring. Its presence in these regions indicates an adaptation to a range of subtropical to temperate forest environments typical of the area.
