Carpinus tropicalis is a species of tree in the Betulaceae family, commonly known as Hornbeam. It is native to several regions in Mexico, as well as to Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, and Nicaragua. The species was first described in 1939 by (Donn.Sm.) Lundell.

Carpinus tropicalis is a tree species that belongs to the genus Carpinus and is part of the Betulaceae family. It is naturally found in central and southern Mexico, as well as in the neighboring countries of Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, and Nicaragua. The species was formally published in 1939. It is one of the several species within the Carpinus genus and is adapted to the tropical and subtropical climates of its native range.
