Pinus occidentalis, known as the Hispaniolan Pine, is a pine species native to the island of Hispaniola. It is part of the Pinaceae family and was first described in 1788 by the author Sw.

Description

Pinus occidentalis is found in the Dominican Republic, Haiti, and the Archipiélago de Cuba. It is a member of the genus Pinus and is commonly referred to as Hispaniolan Pine in English. This species is endemic to Hispaniola, meaning it occurs naturally only on this island. It is one of the native coniferous trees of the region and is adapted to the local environmental conditions.
