Podophyllum hexandrum, known as Himalayan mayapple, is a herbaceous perennial plant in the Berberidaceae family. It is native to Afghanistan, Bhutan, northern India, Kashmir, Nepal, Pakistan, and western China. The species was first described in 1834 by Royle.

Description

Podophyllum hexandrum is a member of the genus Podophyllum and is found in the Himalayan region. It is one of the species previously classified under the genus Podophyllum before some were reclassified into the genus Sinopodophyllum. The plant is commonly referred to as Himalayan mayapple or Indian mayapple in English. It grows in mountainous areas and is part of the Berberidaceae family, which includes other plants such as barberries.
