Miscanthus nepalensis, known as Himalayan fairy grass, is a member of the grass family Poaceae. It is native to mountainous regions in China, Bhutan, India, Myanmar, and Nepal, and has been introduced to Malaysia. This species grows at elevations between 1,900 and 2,800 meters.

Description

Miscanthus nepalensis (Trin.) Hack. is a grass species in the genus Miscanthus. It is distributed across several regions including New Zealand, Assam, China South-Central, East Himalaya, India, Malaya, Myanmar, Nepal, New Zealand North, Pakistan, Tibet, Vietnam, and West Himalaya. The plant is typically found on mountain slopes and was first described in 1889.
