Hesperis burdurensis

Hesperis burdurensis, a new species in the Brassicaceae family, was described in 2022 and is native to Turkey. It is a perennial herb with a flowering period from May to June and a fruiting period from June to July. The plant has an erect stem, 20–60 cm tall, with simple and bifurcate trichomes and densely distributed glands. Leaves are obovate to lanceolate, with varying degrees of dentation and trichome types. The inflorescence is a raceme with ebracteate flowers and pinkish sepals.
Description
Hesperis burdurensis is a perennial species characterized by its erect stem, 20–60 cm tall, with simple and bifurcate trichomes and glands. The plant has a basal rosette of leaves that are obovate, lyrate, or sinuate, with a petiole length of 1.5–4 cm. Cauline leaves are lyrate to lanceolate, with varying degrees of dentation and trichome types. The inflorescence is a raceme with ascending to erect pedicels and ebracteate flowers. Sepals are pinkish, oblong, and deciduous, with membranous margins. The species is found in Turkey and flowers from May to June, fruiting from June to July.
