Herniaria fontanesii is a species in the Caryophyllaceae family, first described by J.Gay in 1847. It is native to North Africa, the Iberian Peninsula, and surrounding regions, including Algeria, the Canary Islands, Egypt, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Sicily, Sinai, Spain, Tunisia, and Western Sahara.

Description

Herniaria fontanesii belongs to the Caryophyllaceae, a family commonly known as carnations or carnation family. The species is distributed across several regions in North Africa, the Iberian Peninsula, and the surrounding Mediterranean areas. It is found in Algeria, the Canary Islands, Egypt, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Sicily, the Sinai region, Spain, Tunisia, and Western Sahara. This species was first published by J.Gay in 1847.
