Herminium lanceum (Thunb. ex Sw.) Vuijk

Herminium lanceum is a member of the Orchidaceae family, found in regions including Japan, China, Korea, and Southeast Asia. It is characterized by a tall, slender stem with linear-lanceolate leaves and a laxly many-flowered inflorescence. The pale yellowish green flowers have a distinct three-lobed lip and a column with globose pollinia.
Description
Herminium lanceum is a herbaceous plant 10 - 66 cm tall, with ovoid to ellipsoid tubers and a stem bearing 2 - 5 linear-lanceolate leaves. The inflorescence, 5 - 40 cm long, has lanceolate floral bracts and pale yellowish green flowers. Each flower has a broadly ovate dorsal sepal, ovate lateral sepals, and linear petals. The lip is oblong, 3-lobed, with a mid-lobe that is oblong and obtuse at the apex. The column is 1.4 mm long, with globose pollinia and a triangular rostellum. The capsule is oblong and 1 cm long. This species was described in 1961 and is distributed across East and Southeast Asia, including Japan, China, Korea, and the Himalayas.
