Henckelia walkerae

Henckelia walkerae is a member of the Gesneriaceae family, a group of flowering plants commonly known as the African violet family. This species is part of the genus Henckelia, which is primarily found in the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia. Endemic to Sri Lanka, the species was scientifically recognized and published in 2011 by D.J. Middleton and Mich. Möller, building upon the initial work of Gardner. Its classification within the Gesneriaceae reflects its morphological and ecological characteristics typical of this family, which includes a wide range of herbaceous plants adapted to diverse habitats.
