Henckelia moonii is a species in the genus Henckelia, belonging to the family Gesneriaceae. It is native to Sri Lanka and was formally described in 2011 by D.J. Middleton and Mich. Möller, based on earlier work by Gardner.

Description

Henckelia moonii is a member of the Gesneriaceae family, a group of flowering plants commonly found in tropical and subtropical regions. This species is indigenous to Sri Lanka, where it grows in its native habitat. The scientific name was established in 2011 by D.J. Middleton and Mich. Möller, who based their classification on prior research by Gardner. The genus Henckelia includes several species known for their ornamental and ecological significance in their respective regions.
