Heliamphora purpurascens is a species of pitcher plant in the family Sarraceniaceae, native to Venezuela. It is found exclusively in the summit area of Ptari Tepui, growing at elevations between 2,400 and 2,500 meters.

Description

Heliamphora purpurascens is a member of the Sarraceniaceae family and is part of the genus Heliamphora. It was first described in 2011 by Wistuba, A.Fleischm., Nerz, and S.McPherson. This species is endemic to the high-altitude summit region of Ptari Tepui in Venezuela. It is adapted to the specific ecological conditions of this location, where it thrives in marshy environments at elevations ranging from 2,400 to 2,500 meters above sea level.
