Hedera azorica, the Azores ivy, is an evergreen climbing plant native to the Azores Islands. It can grow up to 20–30 m in height when vertical surfaces are available, otherwise forming ground cover. The species uses aerial rootlets to climb and cling to substrates.

Description

Hedera azorica is a climbing species of the Araliaceae family, found exclusively in the Azores. It is part of the Hedera genus and is distributed across all major islands of the archipelago, including Corvo, Faial, Flores, Graciosa, Pico, Santa Maria, São Jorge, São Miguel, and Terceira. Published in 1890 by Carrière, the plant exhibits climbing behavior via aerial rootlets and can reach significant heights when suitable surfaces are present.
