The species faces threats from habitat destruction due to development, overgrazing, and quarrying, as well as excessive collection for horticultural purposes.

Description

Haworthia aristata is a member of the genus Haworthia and is endemic to the Cape Provinces. It is primarily distributed in the Eastern Cape, ranging from Port Elizabeth to Kommadagga. The plant is under threat due to human activities such as land development, overgrazing, and quarrying. Additionally, it is heavily collected by the public for use in gardens, further endangering its natural populations. The species was first described in 1819 by Haw.
