Handroanthus guayacan is a Bignoniaceae tree native to regions in South America and parts of Mexico, including the states of Campeche, Chiapas, Oaxaca, Quintana Roo, Tabasco, and Veracruz. It is found in several locations across Central and South America, as well as in various protected and cultivated areas in countries like Colombia, Belize, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, and Venezuela.

Description

Handroanthus guayacan is a member of the Bignoniaceae family and is distributed across multiple regions in Central and South America. It occurs in the Parque Nacional Natural Paramillo, Betulia, Cimitarra, Girón, Lebrija in Antioquia, Chocó, Córdoba, Santander, Jardín Botánico de Bogotá, and the Cuenca de Río Claro. Its range extends beyond the Americas to global locations, including parts of Mexico such as the Gulf, Southeast, and Southwest regions. The species was formally described in 2007 under the authorship of S.O. Grose, based on earlier work by Seem.
