Halothamnus hierochunticus is a species in the genus Halothamnus, part of the subfamily Salsoloideae within the Amaranthaceae family. It is native to Southwest Asia, including Iran, Iraq, Lebanon-Syria, Palestine, and Turkey. The species was first described in 1981.
