Bonnaya ciliata, known as Hairy Slitwort, is a flowering plant in the Linderniaceae family. It is an annual, broad-leaved herb that reaches up to 13 cm in height. Native to tropical and subtropical regions of Asia and northern Australia, it is found in the Himalayas, Western Ghats, parts of China, Taiwan, Malaysia, and Australia. It grows in seasonally dry tropical biomes.
Description
Bonnaya ciliata has oppositely arranged, lanceolate-oblong leaves with serrated margins. It produces light purple or white flowers in racemes. Its native range includes the Himalayas, Western Ghats, Burma, parts of China, Taiwan, Malaysia, and Australia. It is adapted to seasonally dry tropical environments.
