Ponthieva racemosa, known as the hairy shadow witch, is an orchid species distributed across the southeastern United States, Mexico, Central America, the West Indies, and northern South America, extending as far south as Bolivia. It was published in 1901 by C.Mohr, based on Walter's original work.
Description
Ponthieva racemosa belongs to the Orchidaceae family and is found in regions such as Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mexico, and various parts of Central and South America. It is also reported in Antioquia, Cauca, Cesar, Cundinamarca, Nariño, Norte de Santander, Santander, and Valle in Colombia. The species has a wide range that includes both tropical and subtropical habitats.
