Phlox amoena, known as hairy phlox, is a flowering plant in the Polemoniaceae family. It is native to the Southeastern United States, where it grows in sandhills, dry woodlands, and open areas with native vegetation.

Description

Phlox amoena is a member of the genus Phlox and is found in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. This species was first described in 1810 by Sims. It is adapted to habitats such as sandhills and dry woodlands, often in areas with native plant communities.
