Haemanthus nortieri is a perennial flowering plant and geophyte in the genus Haemanthus, family Amaryllidaceae. It is endemic to the Western Cape in South Africa, specifically found on the Nardouwberg. The species has a very limited area of occurrence, less than 100 km², with only three subpopulations. It faces threats from overgrazing, trampling by livestock, road construction, invasive plants, and illegal collection for horticultural purposes.

Description

Haemanthus nortieri, described by Isaac in 1937, is a member of the Amaryllidaceae family. This species is restricted to the Western Cape region, where it grows in a very small area. Its survival is at risk due to habitat degradation from overgrazing, trampling, and human activities such as road construction. Invasive plant species and the illegal collection of the plant for horticultural trade further endanger its existence. Conservation efforts are needed to protect the remaining subpopulations of this narrowly distributed species.
