Haemanthus deformis is a perennial flowering geophyte in the Amaryllidaceae family, native to the Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal. It is found in coastal forest habitats from Umtata to Durban.

Description

Haemanthus deformis, described by Hook.f. in 1871, is a member of the genus Haemanthus. It is endemic to the coastal forests of the Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa. The species is under threat due to harvesting for use in traditional medicine.
