It was first described by Gustave Beauverd and later reclassified by Teppner and E.Klein in 1998. Some individuals have slightly darker petals, though this is rare. The species is known to emit a vanilla-like scent, a trait common in the genus Gymnadenia.
Description
Gymnadenia corneliana is a member of the Orchidaceae family and is found in a limited area of the Southwestern Alps. It is distinguished by its light-pink petals and a subtle vanilla-like fragrance.
