Gymnacranthera farquhariana is a species in the Myristicaceae family, native to several regions in Southeast Asia and the Pacific. It was first described in 1897 by Warburg, based on earlier work by Wall. ex Hook.f. & Thomson.

Gymnacranthera farquhariana belongs to the genus Gymnacranthera and is part of the Myristicaceae family, commonly known as the nutmeg family. This species is distributed across the Bismarck Archipelago, Borneo, Malaya, the Maluku Islands, New Guinea, the Philippines, Sulawesi, Sumatera, and Thailand. The scientific name was formally published in 1897 by Warburg, who revised the earlier classification by Wall. ex Hook.f. & Thomson.
