Grusonia deinacantha is a species of cactus in the Cactaceae family, native to Northeast Mexico. It was formally described in 2018 by Majure, M.A. Baker, and Cloud-H.

Description

Grusonia deinacantha is a member of the Cactaceae family, a group of flowering plants primarily found in arid regions of the Americas. This species is part of the genus Grusonia, which includes several cactus species known for their spiny, columnar growth forms. G. deinacantha is native to the Northeast region of Mexico, where it likely inhabits arid or semi-arid environments typical of cactus habitats. The species was first described in 2018 by botanists Majure, M.A. Baker, and Cloud-H., based on earlier work by D.Donati. As with other members of the Cactaceae, it is adapted to dry conditions and is characterized by its spines and succulent structure.
