Griselinia lucida (J.R.Forst. & G.Forst.) G.Forst.

Griselinia lucida is a shrub in the family Griseliniaceae, native to the North and South Islands of New Zealand. It is commonly called puka, akapuka, and shining broadleaf. The plant can grow up to 10 metres in height and is often found growing epiphytically on other plants, though it also occurs in coastal and rocky habitats.
Description
Griselinia lucida has large, thick, and glossy leaves. Its roots are grooved and may extend downward to the forest floor. The species was first described in 1786. It is an endemic plant of New Zealand, with a distribution primarily across the North and South Islands.
