Acer rufinerve, known as grey-bud snakebark maple, is a tree species in the genus Acer, part of the Sapindaceae family. It is native to mountain forests in Japan, specifically on the islands of Honshū, Kyūshū, and Shikoku. This species is part of the snakebark maple group and is closely related to Acer capillipes. It was first described in 1845 by Siebold & Zucc.

Description

Acer rufinerve is found in several regions across Europe and Asia, including Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Great Britain, and Japan. It is distinguished by its grey buds and is sometimes referred to as the redvein maple or Honshū maple. The species is valued for its ornamental qualities and is cultivated in botanical gardens and as a landscape tree.
