Amaranthus acanthochiton, known as greenstripe, is an annual plant in the Amaranthaceae family. It is native to the southwestern United States and northern Mexico, where it grows at elevations between 1000 and 2000 meters. The species is uncommon in its range.

Description

Amaranthus acanthochiton is a member of the genus Amaranthus and is found in Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Utah, and northern Mexico. It was first described in 1955 by Sauer. This species is an annual herb that typically inhabits higher elevation areas within its native range.
