Ephedra viridis, known as Green Ephedra, is a species of Ephedra in the Ephedraceae family. It is native to the western United States, including Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, and Wyoming. It typically grows in scrub, woodland, desert, and open habitats at elevations between 900 and 2,300 metres.

Description

Ephedra viridis, also referred to as green Mormon tea, Brigham tea, or Indian tea, is a plant species that occurs in the western U.S. It is adapted to a range of environments, including scrublands, woodlands, and deserts. The species was first described in 1893 by Coville. It is a member of the Ephedraceae family and is found growing at elevations from 900 to 2,300 metres.
