Oedipodium griffithianum, known as gouty-moss, is the sole species in the genus Oedipodium of the family Oedipodiaceae. It is a moss found in cooler regions of Eurasia and the Americas, including Alaska, British Columbia, Greenland, and Tierra del Fuego.

Description

Oedipodium griffithianum (Dicks.) Schwägr. is a moss species belonging to the family Oedipodiaceae. It is native to cooler climates across Eurasia and the northern and southern parts of the Americas. Its distribution includes regions such as Alaska, Washington state, British Columbia, Yukon, Greenland, Newfoundland, and as far south as Tierra del Fuego and the Falkland Islands. The species was first published in 1823.
