Mimetes chrysanthus, known as Golden Pagoda, is an evergreen shrub in the Proteaceae family. It grows up to 2 m tall with oval, green leaves and produces dense clusters of golden yellow flowers. This species is native to the Fynbos ecoregion in the Western Cape province of South Africa.
Description
Mimetes chrysanthus is an upright shrub with green, oval leaves measuring 3–4.5 cm long and 1–1.75 cm wide. Its inflorescences appear near the branch tips and contain 50–70 flower heads, each with 25–35 golden yellow, faintly scented flowers. The plant flowers primarily from March to June, though flowers may appear at other times. Endemic to the Fynbos ecoregion, it is found in two locations within the Western Cape province of South Africa. This species was described by Rourke in 1988 and is part of the Proteaceae family.
