Initially described in 1879 by W.Bull, it was once moved to the monotypic genus Saritaea as Saritaea magnifica but has been returned to Bignonia. Description
Bignonia magnifica is a member of the Bignoniaceae family, commonly referred to as the trumpet-vine family. It was first documented in 1879 by W.Bull. The species was reclassified into the genus Saritaea as Saritaea magnifica but has since been reclassified back into Bignonia. It is originally found in Panama and northern South America. Its distribution has expanded beyond its native range, with records in various other locations.
