Gleichenia abscida, commonly known as dwarf coral fern, is an alpine fern found in southwestern Tasmania. It is distinguished by its unique frond structure, which consists of only two blades, with no meristematic tissue in the apical axil between them, unlike other species in the genus Gleichenia.

Description

Gleichenia abscida is a species in the family Gleicheniaceae, native to Tasmania. It was described by Leonard Rodway in 1903. The plant is notable for its distinct frond morphology, which differs from other Gleichenia species by having only two blades and lacking meristematic tissue in the apical axil between them.
