Description

Pinguicula grandiflora, described by Lam. in 1789, is a member of the Lentibulariaceae family. It is native to regions including Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Great Britain, Norway, Czechoslovakia, Ireland, Spain, and Switzerland. The species is distinguished by its large flowers, which set it apart from other members of the Pinguicula genus. Commonly referred to as Giant Butterwort, it is an insectivorous plant adapted to nutrient-poor environments.
