Symphyotrichum georgianum is a species in the Asteraceae family, commonly known as Georgia aster. It is native to the southeastern United States, specifically found in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. The species was first described in 1995 by G.L. Nesom, based on earlier work by Alexander. As of 2013, it may no longer be present in Florida.

Description

Symphyotrichum georgianum is a flowering plant in the aster family, Asteraceae. It is known by the common name Georgia aster. The species occurs in the southeastern U.S., with historical records from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. As of 2013, it may have been lost from Florida. The plant was formally described in 1995 by G.L. Nesom, building on Alexander's earlier contributions.
