Geonoma leptospadix is a species in the palm family Arecaceae, native to several regions in South America including Amazonas, Caquetá, Guaviare, Putumayo, Vaupés, and Parque Nacional Natural Serranía de Chiribiquete in Colombia, as well as Bolivia, Brazil, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Peru, Suriname, and Venezuela. It was first described in 1876 by Trail.

Description

Geonoma leptospadix belongs to the genus Geonoma in the Arecaceae family. It is found in various protected areas and regions across South America, including Parque Nacional Natutral de Amacayacu, Reserva Nacional Natural Nukak, and Parque Nacional Natural Serranía de Chiribiquete. The holotype is housed at K!, with isotypes at F!, NY!, and P!. Trail's original description was published in 1876 as part of his work on the genus Geonoma.
