Genlisea violacea is a species in the genus Genlisea, belonging to the family Lentibulariaceae. It was first described by A.St.-Hil. in 1833 and is native to the Southeast region of Brazil, as well as the Nearctic region.

Description

Genlisea violacea is a member of the Lentibulariaceae family, a group of carnivorous plants commonly known as bladderworts. The species is distributed in the Southeast region of Brazil and the Nearctic region. It was first scientifically described by A.St.-Hil. in 1833. This species is part of the Genlisea genus, which is characterized by its unique trapping mechanisms and aquatic to semi-aquatic habitats.
