Description

Genlisea guianensis is a terrestrial or helophytic plant with a glabrous scape and sparsely eglandular bracts, bracteoles, and sepals. The scape is slightly thick and flexible. Fruiting pedicels are ascending and covered with eglandular trichomes, occasionally mixed with long-stalked glandular trichomes. The lilac corolla features a lilac or white, gibbous palate, glabrous lips, and a trilobed lower lip. The spur is glabrous or sparsely eglandular, obtuse, and longer than and parallel to the lower lip. The circumscissile capsule is covered with eglandular trichomes. This species is unique among lilac-flowered members of G. subgen. Genlisea in Brazil and is found exclusively in veredas.
