Persoonia asperula, known as mountain geebung, is a shrub in the Proteaceae family. It is native to south-eastern Australia, primarily found in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales, with a small population in Victoria. The plant features elliptic to oblong leaves and yellow flowers that appear singly or in clusters of up to nine. It has smooth bark and can grow either erect or prostrate.

Description

Persoonia asperula is a member of the Proteaceae family and is endemic to south-eastern Australia. It is described as an erect or prostrate shrub with smooth bark and mostly elliptic to oblong leaves. The flowers are yellow and may appear singly or in groups of up to nine. The species is primarily distributed in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales, with a small population in Victoria that may represent a different species. The plant was formally described in 1991 by L.A.S. Johnson and P.H. Weston.
