Gastrochilus flabelliformis is a species in the Orchidaceae family, native to India. It was first described in 1976 by C.J.Saldanha, based on earlier work by Blatt. & McCann.

Description

Gastrochilus flabelliformis belongs to the Orchidaceae family, one of the largest families of flowering plants. This species is part of the genus Gastrochilus, which includes a number of orchid species primarily found in tropical and subtropical regions. Gastrochilus flabelliformis is native to India, where it grows in its natural habitat. The species was formally described in 1976 by C.J.Saldanha, who based the classification on earlier contributions by Blatt. & McCann. Its scientific name remains unchanged since its formal publication.
